Dr. Matt Suchanec grew up in State College, PA, where he discovered at a young age that he enjoyed learning how the body worked. He knew he wanted to pursue a career in the health profession where he could share his knowledge and have an impact on the health and well-being of others. He attended Penn State University and received his bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. While in school, he worked for four years as a physical therapy aide at a physical therapy office on campus, where he learned the importance of movement and exercise in overall health. During his senior year, he was introduced to chiropractic care and realized it was the perfect career because it offered a medication-free approach to pain management while focusing on the patient’s overall health.
Dr. Suchanec attended Northeast College of Health Sciences (formerly New York Chiropractic College) and graduated with honors, earning his Doctor of Chiropractic degree. He later completed a prestigious honors clerkship at the VA Hospital in Bay Pines, Florida, where he gained valuable experience treating complex cases while serving veterans.
He enjoys working with athletes and holds a certification in Advanced Sport and Human Performance. His background in physical therapy provides him with a deeper understanding of athletic movement, injury prevention, and recovery. He has worked with athletes during an internship at the University of Buffalo and has volunteered at numerous 5Ks and half marathons, helping participants recover and improve performance.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Matt enjoys hiking, fishing, golfing, weightlifting, and relaxing on the beach with his fiancée, Emily.
Dr. Lenny Roberts was born and raised in Roxborough. He graduated from Germantown Academy in 1992. His interest in helping others was shaped by an athletic career that included six knee surgeries. Dr. Lenny missed his entire senior season of high school football after undergoing three surgeries to his left knee.
In 1993, he played offensive line on the Rowan football team, runner-up in the Division III National Championship. On the last day of football camp, he suffered a serious injury to his right knee. After surgery, he developed a staph infection that nearly cost him his leg. Two additional surgeries, six weeks in a wheelchair, and three months on IV antibiotics left him with a total of six knee procedures by the age of 19. His football career came to an end.
After he was unable to continue playing, he stopped exercising, struggled with motivation, and gained significant weight, reaching over 340 pounds. Eventually, he made major lifestyle changes, became passionate about fitness, competed in amateur boxing events, and completed the San Diego Marathon in 2006.
Dr. Roberts earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Life University in Marietta, Georgia, in 2001. He founded Summit Spine and Wellness with the mission to “Empower Families Towards their Full Expression of Life,” a mission that continues to guide the practice more than 20 years later. Throughout his career, he has helped thousands of people in the community live more active and pain-free lives.
He served as Team Chiropractor for the Philadelphia 76ers from 2009 to 2015 and has been the Team Chiropractor for Temple Football since 2015. While working with elite athletes remains a lifelong passion, Dr. Roberts enjoys helping people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities return to the activities they love and improve their quality of life.
